Azerbaijan eliminates double taxation with 10 more countries
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is preparing for the elimination of taxation with another 10 countries.
Alakbar Mammadov, Advisor to the Taxes Minister of Azerbaijan, says that one of the important conditions of the investment environment in the country is to meet the agreement on the elimination of taxation on income tax and property tax, and prevention of tax evasion.
“At the moment the agreements on the elimination of double taxation are valid with 48 countries, including the majority of the countries of the European Union, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Canada, Japan, the CIS countries. 43 of them have taken effect and expert level talks with 6 countries are underway about the text of the agreement. Negotiations with another 10 countries are being held about the conclusion of such an agreement,” Mammadov said.
He pointed out that currently the agreement on the elimination of double taxation cover the key trade partners of Azerbaijan. Work is also underway to expand the network of agreements on the exchange of information playing an important role in the regulation of tax issues.
