Belarusian, Russian tax services to step up mutual control in bilateral trade
MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarusian and Russian tax bodies have discussed and elaborated additional measures of joint control over export and import operations in the mutual trade, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties after the session of the working group of the Belarusian ministry and the Russian Federal Tax Service in Moscow.
“The meeting resulted in an agreement to facilitate a regular exchange of information between the tax bodies which will help promptly respond to all tax violations,” the press release of the ministry reads. The participants of the meeting also pointed out the importance of holding simultaneous audit events in relation to tax payers who are engaged in export and import operations in the mutual trade and committed grave violations of the tax legislation.
Apart from that, the sides agreed that it is needed to step up efforts to convince taxpayers that it is important to provide electronic reports for the import of goods and pay implicit taxes. “As a result, this will help facilitate the procedure of VAT recovery,” the specialists explained.
The working group was established at the joint session of the boards of the Russian Federal Tax Service and the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties which took place in Minsk on 29 May 2015. The next session of the working group is scheduled for December 2015.
