Mexico, Argentina Sign Double Tax Avoidance Agreement
Mexico and Argentina have signed an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital.
The agreement allocates taxing rights to the two countries, to avoid taxation being levied twice on the same income from companies and individuals conducting cross-border business. The two countries also agreed to cooperate on tax enforcement, by agreeing to exchange tax-related information.
Mexico now has eleven such agreements with countries from Latin America and the Caribbean. Mexico’s Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit said that the agreement will promote trade and investment between the two countries.
